Approximately one million years ago (early February, I think) I took this set of photos, I wore this outfit quite a bit and I do truly enjoy it still. It’s a fun mix of 80s movie high schooler and witch. Also, the pictures with the open coat (esp. the one below) make me feel somewhat like a movie character, like a bad bitch assassin that never stays in one place for too long and smokes cigarettes while driving an old black car. So basically nothing like me.

I usually live a chill live, I don’t have to worry about basic needs – also I neither smoke nor drive nor assassinate. Which I am glad about, I like living a comfortable life, going for a hike every now and then, yet I do like dressing up in a certain way and thinking about a story for each and every one, a certain personality. I do talk about this a lot, but movies and stories influence me a lot. And while I know I will not pursue a career in that direction, I appreciate the idea people have.

a few things I loved in 2017 ♥

2017 favourites fashion photography beret travelling wanderlust vintage
I feel like in 2017 – especially towards the last few months – my “main” interests kind of condensed, which I like, because that means I don’t have to invest time in a million things, but just ten thousand. However, I feel like a lot of the things I started admiring this year, will stay with me for a very long time.

frankenstein 2017 favourites mary shelley bride
I already showed you my book favourites, but I have to mention Frankenstein again. Life-Changing is not the right word, because this book did not really change my life, but for one it sparked a love for 19th century (in which I was already interested, but this intensified it a lot). Also, I felt such an emotional connection to the story and especially Victor Frankenstein, the writing, this book, I cannot put in words what this meant to me, I can just say that it is maybe the most beautiful and tragic story ever. While I haven’t yet found a movie that I like in it’s entirety, I admittedly like the imagery of the Bride of Frankenstein – the white strand in my hair is not without reason.

2017 favourites backpack 50s vintage travelling wanderlust teylers photography camera nacklace
Some years ago an aunt of mine gave me a necklace with a big stone on the pendant and back then while finding it lovely I had no idea how to wear it. This year, however, this truly was a staple piece for me, it’s has this magical feeling to it and I adore it. Most of the things I loved last year were either Vintage/Second-Hand or gifts, because I try to be more eco-conscious. And one thing I found in Salzburg was this lovely old camera – and it actually still works! It is both an adorable accessoire and a very exciting tool to get work on. On etsy I found this adorable kids backpack from the 50s, since I got it I carry it around almost every day. Everything fits inside and it is also just very cute – just like a statement piece for a super adorable wanderer.
With the wandering theme, of course I have to mention all my travels, I will talk about all of them in my revision of 2017, but I especially want to mention being able to spend about a month in Scandinavia which was a dream come true, Krakow which had all the culture and amazing food, the temples in Paestum and having a last sunny journey to Florence before university (even though of course my uni courses are actually another favourite because it feels just right!).

2017 favourites vintage beret the other sparrows irregular choice bunny
As for fashion, my sense of style changed a bit, but there are some particular things, I do really want to mention. I truly love the Irregular Choice Bunny Shoes. They are surprisingly wearable in daily life even though of course only on sunny days and not in the mud, but the shoes themselves are just too lovely to be true. While I have often been told, I’d look good in hats, I never appreciated them myself that much – that is before 2017, now I often wear hats and especially berets – a wild collection of gifts, vintage and lovely designers, though I especially love the white one and the embroidered on by The Other Sparrows. Also whenever I wear them people tell me I look French – I don’t know if it’s the beret cliché or if my face looks French with a beret (?), but I take it as a compliment. Also it is great for covering roots, dirty hair or hair that is still in curls and drying.

2017 favourites 50s 80s edwardian scott mcclintock lace
Since this seams to be something I mention in practically every post, I do it here as well, I want to write about my newfound fashion identity soon … somewhere in the future … hopefully before February. Though, one thing I have to mention here already is that I started a collection of what I assume to be Scott McClintock Edwardian inspired Wedding Dresses, I do own two of them now, one I found online and the other one in Florence. The details in lace, the low waist and the entire concept of these dresses are dreamy – I hope I will stumble across more of these and wear them a lot, too, even though it’s always a bit weird wandering through the city in what is essentially an Edwardian wedding gown (made in the 80s). I wore one of them here and I think it is a lovely outfit. Besides that I really enjoyed wearing the light pink kitten crop top which is super kitschy, but I got to wear it a lot. And, then the light pink 50s ball gown I found in Stockholm – that was just a bargain and a dream dress at the same time.

2017 favourites movies hidden figures a cure for wellness assassin's credd ezio
Besides a love for gothic horror in books I also love aesthetic horror movies and this year I got to see A Cure for Wellness (at all three of the nine movies I saw in theatres were Dane DeHaan ones) and I no this movie provoked mixed feelings, but I adored this movie. It was chilling and beautiful with the scenery and amazing acting. I also saw Kill your Darlings on DVD and this movie is incredible, it’s with Dane DeHaan and Daniel Radcliffe, very emotional and inspiring. Through and through a very good – and underrated – movie. Another great movie was Hidden Figures, which was quite inspiring and very well made from the dressing to the dialogue and pacing.
I also developed a love for Fleetwood Mac and especially Stevie Nicks, the songs make me feel very spiritual and like dancing in the woods. Stevie’s style is also quite inspiring with all the bohemian vibes going on. Another musician I really appreciated this year was Marina & the Diamonds. I mean, I knew her music before, but this year I also listened to the lyrics and just to more songs in general. She is also another really inspiring person when it comes to fashion.
This year I also played quite a bit Playstation, especially the Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection. I had a lot of fun in the Italian landscapes and just all three games were entirely enjoyable. I am looking forward to more AC games, though I’m somewhat stuck with Syndicate at the moment.

Surprisingly enough I did not discover a lot of new TV shows, I rewatched favourites and watched a few meh shows, but what I did trly enjoy was RuPaul’s Drag Race, for which I have been waiting to be available in Germany for quite a while and it is such a good reality/competion show (which is not something I usually gravitate to) with a lot of creative innovation. I haven’t watched every episode becauses it’s kind of difficult here. What I also really enjoyed was American Horror Story, though of course I did not like every season the same. My favourites were definetly Asylum, Hotel and Coven.

2017 favourites moth dress vintage 60s erstwilder beehive
I grew to love erstwilder brooches as well, I have been adoring them from afar, but now I also own a couple of my own – at the moment I do not thing this collection will get much bigger (unless I find the Cera brooch or they create new dinos), but I truly enjoy the designs. Besides a couple of vintage books about archaeology, I also got a wonderful framed moth that reminds me of Animal Crossing in a way. Though, not only do I love moths due to Animal Crossing, but I just adore the beauty, so of course my moth dress was another favourite, because I love the somewhat antique print and get a lot of wear out of it.

There are a just a couple more “things” I do want to mention, one being my adorable hamster Artemis of whom I really have to take more pictures of and write about. Then, of course, the tattoos I got this year, both for their personal meaning and the beautiful designs. And my blogposts in March, April and May, looking back over this year also on my blog I realised I quite enjoyed the designs and ideas I had going on there and I hope to work on that again.
Here are also my three favourite outfits from this year: aventures extraordinaires | temples and icecream in Paestum ♥ | Edwardian Bunny

So, these were my favourite things this year. What did you enjoy in 2017? What treasures did you find and what movies or books touched you?

I think I will just stop apologising for not being that active due to uni – after all this is more of a diary for me than anything else. These photos were taken around Halloween, but as you probably saw on my Instagram feed I include the witchy themes into most of my outfits nowadays. I am not wiccan, more of an agnostic pagan witch, probably. I do a couple of things wiccan witches do as well, like tarot readings and collecting herbs and flowers and drying them. Though in general I don’t use it as a religious outlet. Yet it is kind of contradictory that while I want to become a scientist I still believe in tarot, isn’t it?

As for the scientist part, I really feel like my study programme is quite perfect for me. Some of the base courses that I have only for one/two semesters are a bit exhausting because they either expect a looot or start at the very beginnning. But in general it feels just right and I can truly imagine pursuing a career in this field. Other than that I try to juggle my life and interests with studying at the moment and so when I have a few hours to spare I usually read or watch horror movies/shows (or procrastinate – but this week is going pretty well so far!). Even sewing got pushed back a bit – might be due to being in the weird space of my style changing a bit. I do want to write about that – more as a cohesive text, but I already wanted to say that I have a couple of things I don’t wear anymore up on my etsy. Talking about etsy, I really love looking for Vintage pieces at the moment. Because even with shipping it is usually cheaper than buying vintage where I live. And where I live finding Vintage that is actually lovely (and for a decent price) is also quite difficult. To be honest I think it should not have been this hard (impossible) to find a “gyspy” scarf instore, but apparently it was, so I got this one of a wonderful seller on etsy.

I was enchanted by the lovely autumn weather and especially light we had this year. Temperature dropped quite drastically after that, but October was really golden and felt quite magical. I also feel very comfortable in what I am wearing at the moment, though there are days I pick up things that don’t neccessarily match “the new me” (toput it that cheesy) and it feels kind of weird now, too. However this whole ensemble is quite accurate for what I like at the moment – being an autumn/forest witch or something along those lines. Probably trying to capture Stevie Nicks songs as outfits.

Mail Day #10 | Brooches, Socks and Bohemian Vibes

Mail Day #10 Brooches Wednesday Addams Zombie Grease Happy Socks
Long time no see. With uni, studying and procrastinating I don’t find the time or motivation to blog. I would love to and it feels good to type something out again – I also have a couple of things left I still want to write about. Among them beautiful pictures from Florence in early autumn. Anyway this time I would like to share a couple of things that I ordered, mainly from etsy. This is not really a Mail Day though, but more of a Mail Halfyear or so. There are some beautiful pieces and great etsy stores connected to it, so maybe you’ll find something new as well.

Sappho's Club Violet
Sappho’s Club – Violet Pin
As a member of the bi/pansexual girl club with a preference for girls I just wanted a Violet, also I love Sappho’s poetry, so I am very happy about this piece.

Bride of Frankenstein Pin Brooch kate gabrielle
kategabrielle – Bride Pin
This one is actually a regular pin, but I turned it into a brooch. The Bride of Frankenstein is aesthetically spoken on of my favourite movie characters. She is beautiful and the pin glows in the dark.

Wednesday Sticker SleepyKoi
SleepyKoi – Wednesday Sticker
When I saw the Wednesday Sticker, I fell in love with SleepyKoi Designs, so I ordered – but the package arrived empty. However, Renae was so sorry and she sent me not only the Wednesday Sticker, but also a package of small versions of some of her other stickers and they are adorable.

Edwardian Bunny Irregular Choice Scott McClintock Vintage 80s Witch Woodland Zombie erstwilder beret
GypsyGothVintage – 80s Scott McClintock Edwardian inspired Dress
Before I got this dress I had been eyeing it for quite some time and Kinsey is such a kind person, too. However since then I developed an obsession with Scott McClintock dresses, though this one is especially beautiful, you see more of it here. The details on the lace are incredible and the cut is a dream.

baccurelli Wednesday Brooch
19 Black – baccurelli – Wednesday
As you maybe saw above or in old posts you know that I love Wednesday Addams and this brooch captures her so perfectly, so I was hunting it down. It is a rather old baccurelli design and I felt so lucky to find probably one of the last ones.

Happy Socks
Happy Socks
I also got a wonderful package from happy socks, they asked me to pick out a few things and I chose these beauties. The socks are super soft and I really like how the panties are cut. This is the striped pair of socks and these are the heart panties.

Frenchie Grease erstwilder brooch
erstwilder – Frenchie Brooch
Frenchie is my favourite Grease character, so I got up really early to order her on the release day and erstwilder packed a beautiful package and to be honest erstwilder is kind of becoming my favourite brooch company.

Bride of Frankenstein Patch Jenni's Prints
jenni’s prints – Bride Patch
Yes, it is another Bride of Frankenstein piece, I am still considering where to put it – if on my denim jacket or my backpack. Tough decision.

80s does 50s egyptian skirt midcentury novelty print
Advantage in Vintage – 80s does 50s Egyptian Skirt
While I am developing a love for the 80s, I still very much appreciate a well done 80s does 50s – and this one does it so so well. This is a great novelty print and I am already so excited to wear it to a exhibtion about pharaos or Egyptian art.

Moth Display Hyles Euphorbiae Real Hyles Dahlii Female
Butterfly Palace – Moth
Even though it said Real Hyles Dahlii Female, I actually think it’s a Hyles Euphorbiae(spurge hawk-moth), like the one I have tattooed on me. It is a beautiful piece and arrived save and sound.

Zombie Brooch Halloween erstwilder
erstwilder – Zombie Brooch
This is the second brooch from erstwilder I ordered online, and again they included gifts and just decorated it so adorably. The brooch itself is so wonderfully crafted and it has the same colour as the circles on my chestpiece. Which probably concludes that I am in fact a zombie.

Mele Pele Backpack 50s Vintage Kid
melepele – 50s kids backpack
For university I wanted a backpack, but a second hand since I am trying to buy mainly handmade and used pieces. Also a 50s backpack – how cute is that? It is in fact a bit small, but everything fits inside(it’s for kindergarden kids, so that might explain it).

Gypsy Scarf Rose MenagicalVintage
Menagical Vintage – Gypsy Scarf
I was also on the lookout for a cute scarf like this, but actually looking for something specific in Vintage and Second Hand stores where I live basically never leads to anything, because they are small and do not have a lot of things. So after not finding one I got this beauty from the UK.

Sayonara Baby Dinosaur Jurassic Park Rosemary's Baby Witch Feminist
sayonara baby – Rosemary’s Baby Couldron and feminist dino brooch
While I was on the lookout for witch-y brooches, I found the cute couldron based on Rosemary’s Baby (really have to watch it again and read it!) and the Jurassic Park Brooch – they are smaller than I expected, but so adorable and the clours are really crisp!

baccurelli Star Wars Brooch C-3PO Leia Organa Skywalker Solo
baccurelli – C-3PO Brooch, Leia Brooch
I waited a long loooong time for this. I knew I would have to, but it took even longer, also because I was afraid it would arrive while I was on holiday, go to customs and be send back, and then the transfer from the US to Germany and then in Germany took forever. However now they are here and how beautiful are they?

Happy Socks Panties
Happy Socks
I also got another surprise package from happy socks with more panties and they are so cute! So obsessed with the pink panties. Here are the pink ones, the colourful ones and the socks.

That is it for now, let’s see when I get around to blogging again…. As I said I have a couple of things left to show you and I want a couple of new outfit shots, write a few toughts down, but this was the easiest for now. :)

First of all, sorry for the recent absense. My notebook died and I could not get it back to working. So I hope I can save my files at least. Anyway now I’m using a new notebook and want to share a couple of photos.

I grew up in a very rational, only little emotional household, however in the past months I found my way to spirituality and with it a new sense of style too. For the past three or four years I mainly wore a fifties silhoutte and I love that, but I discovered a love for the twenties and even further back – edwardian and victorian times. This was quite inspired by my interested in 19th century literature and people, and I really enjoy the cut of those times. Sure, Scott McClintock was a 80s designer and this was probably for a wedding, or maybe celebrations before or afterwards. The low waist accentuates my curves while most dresses make me look like I have no hips whatsoever, which makes me feel very good. A bit opposing to the shoulder pads which are way out of my comfort zone (I am very self-conscious about my shoulders – for whatever reason). However this dress never really makes me feel comfortable with my body and person, because it makes me look like a Woodland Fairy Witch (of course the beret and shoes add to that – but then again thoes shooooes….. <3).

That brings me back to my spirituality – I am agnostic, but I feel very connected to nature and witchcraft. It helps me find my inner centre. I was always interested in myths and magic, but getting closer to it with tarot cards and spending time in nature just breathing just makes me feel more at peace with myself. I also spend most of the time listening to Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, because it makes me feel so spiritual like nothing ever did. I don’t know if you ever had this kind of moment – maybe you found religion only later on in life -, but it is very interesting and shocking in a way. It feels like finding something you did not know you were missing.

Rhiannon rings like a bell through the night
And wouldn’t you love to love her?
Takes to the sky like a bird in flight
And who will be her lover?
All your life you’ve never seen a woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised to you heaven?
Will you ever win?

She is like a cat in the dark
And then she is the darkness
She rules her life like a fine skylark
And when the sky is starless
All your life you’ve never seen a woman taken by the wind
Would you stay if she promised to you heaven?

One of my favourite things to do is walk around graveyards, especially old ones. No matter if Christian, Jewish or whatever, I think it’s so interesting how graves were designed and the stories behind both the people and the graveyard as a whole. And it always has a rather calming effect on me, because usually there are a lot less people walking around compared to parks. However at least the graveyard near me is almost a park – it hasn’t been used as a graveyard in decades, they take care of the flowers and placed a couple of benches all over the area.

Of course, it also makes my Wednesday Addams heart rejoice to visit graveyards. In general her dark fashion inspires me a lot at the moment, I’m not sure I’d wear black everyday, but I adore her appearance. But, to be honest, I also consider her character rather inspiring. She does her thing and follows her way through life. The way the whole family is okay with being weird, different, can mean a lot to people who don’t always fit in – life would be a lot easier if more families were like the Addams. Especially the loving relationship of Gomez and Morticia really shows how being true to oneself can make life a whole lot better – after all none of their kids have any personal issues either.

I really want to cosplay Wednesday one day, her appearance is very iconic and I would wear her dress in reallife. Nevertheless I think this dress would be approved as well, it has some Edwardian influences (at least I tried to convey them) – and of course it’s all black. Sure, my almost paper white skin (and those black circles that look like I crept out of a grave) adds to that Edwardian not-so-sorry widow effect. Which of course closes the circle to the Addams family graveyard. I guess I will watch one of the movies tonight.

Apparently, there is this myth about moths being dead spirits. Well vengeful bad spirits, but since I think moths are lovely and beautiful, let’s just say spirits of any kind. I love that idea, moths are mainly found during night time, looking for light, I can imagine them being ghosts of people that passed recently. After all there are even moths with the image of a skull on the back.

Sure, those mainly remind me of Silence of the Lambs, but then again that movie is amazing. I can’t even say if I like the movie or TV show adaptation of Hannibal better. Of course, the TV show has Hugh Dancy and he is literally my favourite male eye candy. And it’s by Bryan Fueller, because he is an amazing show runner (thinking of, I have to continue American Gods). Anyway, I think moths work great with the genre in general, because they have this darkness and calmness at the same time.

Of course, moths also remind me of Animal Crossing, because as a kid I used to play AC in the evening, especially in summer and catching moths was always part of that. By now I also own my own little (or not so little, it’s actually rather big) moth and it looks a lot like the big one in Wild World. So besides me loving moths, and this on being beautiful, that is another plus. You can see it here, by the way.

In a way that also matched the gothic vibes Krakow has to it. However I cannot let this pass without mentioning how AMAZING this chimney cake (it’s actually a Czech thing, but whatever) with caramel cream, a sort of frozen yoghurt/ice cream and my favourite bisquits. Not only does it look like heaven, it was an utter dream come true. That’s probably why I look at it as if it was my one true love or my newborn.

a few gothic favourites

Gothic Favourites
Currently I’m loving the Victorian idea of Gothic, I love gothic horror anyway, but I also really enjoy the aesthetic with the beautiful lace details and darkness. I did not show any below, but I also really enjoy Chokers at the moment (who is late on that train?), because I think they can add this Victorian vibe (of course that heavily depends on material etc.).

Gothic Favourites Bride of Frankenstein Funko Pop
My love for Frankenstein is very big and you know that, because I talk about it all the time. So, eventually I decided to get the 30s movies after falling in love with this beautiful Bride print at Comic Con. As it is the case every once in a while I also got the Funko Pop figurine. And to me this one is especially beautiful with the details on the dress – and of course, her big hair is too cute.

Gothic Favourites Bride of Frankenstein Pin Brooch Violets Sappho'S Club sapphic
I also love this Bride pin by Kate Gabrielle – which I turned into a brooch, because it’s something I rather wear. She also glows in the dark, which is a fantastic addition to this character in particular. The violets brooch is a sapphic symbol and I think it’s very dainty and beautiful.

Gothic Favourites Moth
This moth was a gift by my mother – I talked about this before on Instagram; I wanted to get it in the beginning of July after looking at it for weeks, but it wasn’t at the Antique shop anymore and I was quite sad. However mum had gotten it for me, because she is the loveliest. Moths are one of my favourite animals, and this one in particular also reminds me of Animal Crossing. It’s a beautiful piece and I’m still thinking about where to place it to really show off it’s beauty.

Gothic Favourites 80s Edwardan Dress White GypsyGothVintage
One of my favourite Instagram accounts is Gypsy Goth Vintage and she also has an etsy shop where she sells beautiful pieces from the 20th century. I have been eyeing a pair of trousers for months, maybe years – it’s a 80s piece in turquoise. Well, still thinking about getting it. BUT I did get this lovely 80s piece, it’s an Edwardian inspired piece and exactly the kind of dress I love at the moment. With all the different organza and lace it’s a gorgeous pice and I got it at a fantastic price. It gives me quite a nice “antique” silhouette and I think it would look great wearing it in a forest (hauning surrounding villages, probably).

Gothic Favourites Lipstick Kiko essence metal green sangria
Recently I discovered green lipsticks – surprisingly they lok quite natural on me, the essence one (Metal Shock in 07 Venom) looks a bit like I imagine Medusa and the Kiko one (Metal Lipstick in 12 Forest Green) which is a bit darker like a mermaid. As someone that does not look that good in green clothing it is really interesting to see that green lipstick looks good on me (additionally they have fancy names). But, I also really enjoy the dark red/fuchsia tone (Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick in 111 Sangria) – I know dark tones are more popular in winter, but I do love them at the moment (then again they fit in quite well with the gothic/edwardian/victorian vibes I love right now). The design of tha last one is really innovative, but also kind of chunky and I do not know if I like that. As for durance, all of them stay on all day with minor touch ups.

What do you enjoy at the moment? what are your favourite thinkgs right now?

Handmade Update June 2017

This month was me catching up on all the sewing I missed over the last two months. So, there was some time when I created a lot of stuff out of fabric I got at my grandparents, so here we go.

Wednesday Watercolour Painting
Wednesday Postcard
5th of June
Well, first I decided to paint Wednesday of watercolours and to be honest I really like the red background – that idea worked out well.

Star Wars Skirt
etsy Star Wars Skirt
9th, 10th of June
For my etsy store I made a Star Wars Skirt and there is still some fabric left, so you might want to head over there.

Lace Border Dress
Dress with Lace Border
10th of June
This project is based on a ModCloth dress, I adored for quite some time. It’s actually apricot, but I wanted something a bit witchy and that dark lavender tone is more than perfect. Also I love the lace details and I think it matches the tone very well. It’s pretty long compared to my 50s style wardrobe, so I am pretty excited to wear it for the first time.

Bat Sleeve Dress
Bat Wing 60s Dress
11th of June
Inspired my among other things this I wanted a bat wing dress – I wanted something sixties, somwthing that would actually require a beehive and Twiggy Makeup. There is a little issue with the lining showing on the right side, but I will figure this out.

Carot Crop Top
Carot Crop/Bra Top
11th of June
You know I got a couple of fabrics in Augsburg and now I decided to make some crop tops. This fabric is so adorable and I saw this pattern online, so I created my own based on the photograph on the front.

Governess Dress
Chiffon Edwardian/Victorian inspired Dress
12th of June
Recently I fell in love with Edwardian and Victorian dresses and really like those gothic vibes (gothic as in 19th century horror stories and the aesthetic, not pop culture goth). I think it looks a bit like somthing a governess would wear. It is inspired by this, however longer and without the collar (because I did not enjoy the way the collar looked and think this looks a bit older that way).

Wine Two Piece
Wine Red Two Piece (Cape/Skirt)
13th of June
Another one inspired by etsy is this two pice – I immediately fell in love with the idea of wearing a skirt as a cape when it gets colder. As with the first dress I wanted something darker, so I went for the wine tone. (Also it makes me feel a bit like Jayne Mansfield.)

Kitsch Kitten Crop Top
Kitty Kitsch Crop Top
14th of June
This is probably my favourite crop top I made this month – the print is so kitchy and I think the sweetheart neckline is perfect for the print. It’s also great because I don’t have to wear a bra with it.

Sheep Crop Top
Sheep Crop/Bra Top
14th of June
I’m so glad I decided to made tops now, because with not really shopping for clothing anymore and also not having too many tops this is an easy way to stock my closet. I definitively have to work on my blouse making, so that is another project for the rest of 2017.

20s Day Dress Slip Dress
20s Slip Dress
15th of June
With my current love for the 19th century to the 20s also made me create this dress (it’s based on a white slip dress I saw browsing on etsy, but I lost the link) – I wanted a soft, light (in weight and colour) cotton and this one has the perfect feel to it and I just love a beautiful insect print. I think it’s perfect for a 20s day dress

Sailor Skirt Red Mum
Mum’s Red Sailor Skirt
28th, 29th of June
My mum recently bought fabric for table runners, pillows and placemats and since she really liked it she asked me for a riviera style skirt which could be tied, so I made one. I really like the style and consider making more skirts with ribbons to tie.

Thyra Dresses
I also gave to of my old dresses to my friend Thyra and she looks adorable in them.

So this is what I made this month. What have you made this week?

Fabrics & Second-Hand | Shopping in Augsburg

Augsburg Shopping Fabrics Thrift Second-Hand
As I mentioned in the post about visiting Augsburg, they have amazing fabric stores and of course I wanted to visit my favourite one. So, that is what I’m showing you today, alongside some more things I found in this lovely town.

Augsburg Shopping Drugstore
Just after arriving I had to go to the drugstore, because I wanted a small deodorant for travelling. However as it turns out, this one is really dry and powdery, literally dust came of my armpit after appling this. The lasher were just because I really wanted to have some falsies again.

Augsburg Shopping Vintage Shirt Blouse
I also went to a thrift/vintage (Vinty’s) store where they sell second-hand stuff for a few euros and some of the profit goes to a good cause. This blouse is vintage, I’d say midcentury, but I’m not quite sure. However it goes very well with my skirts.

Augsburg Shopping Shirt Blouse
I also found this rather new shirt by a London fabricant and since I was looking for cute shirts, I tried it on and got it. It has a very summery feel to it due to the colour.

Augsburg Shopping Bee Pin
I also found this DLV (which I guess is Deutscher Landwirtschaftsverband/German Agricultural Union) Pin and since I love bees, I just had to get it.

Augsburg Shopping Fabric
As mentioned above I wanted to buy some fabrics, I got six different ones, all very beautiful, but I was a little too stinted and so I’m afraid it might be just a bit too little of each one. We will see, I guess there will be some new additions to my wardrobe shown in my handmade update this month. For the mint on with the triangles I had a project in mind the moment I saw it (it is one of my 2017 projects, but I was still looking for the fabric), the other ones just spoke to me and I could not resist.

Augsburg Shopping Fabric

Augsburg Shopping Mary Shelley Frankenstein
Last thing: I went to a few bookstores, but eventually got a Penguin edition of Frankenstein. I never read the book, but I heard good things about it and it’s said to be quite the feminist and scifi steppingstone, so it was on the list anyway. Also, gothic stores are right up my alley.

What do you think abou the fabrics? Where do you get yours?
