You know I went to Comic Con Dortmund on the first weekend of December and I really enjoyed it, so I wanted to share a few pictures. I did not include most of the pictures taken of other people for copyright/privacy reasons. Amy is actually speedmaeuschen and the DeLorean is from Team Timemachine. As you might be able to imagine my excitement was enormous, I was smiling from seeing the DeLorean until I got out. And it wasn’t a pretty smile, but more of a crazy one. I already mentioned my slight obsession with BTTF once or twice, so it was great to actually sit in the car. And the Star Wars guys, that was great, too. They are from the 501st German Garrison and I think the picture looks amazing. Standing besides Kylo Ren I was fangirling on the inside, if you want to see more Star Wars pics, go here.

I was happy with my cosplays (Mia Wallace on Friday and Ellie Sattler on Saturday), but I got so inspired by all those amazing cosplayers at the con. Of course, I did not know every single one – video games inspired ones for example, but it was inspiring all the same. By now I already prepared my BB8 cosplay for Munich Comic Con in May (or April? It’s unorganised as hell), I just want a cute orange wig to go with it, though my silver/white hair could actually work as well. But some of them are so crazily detailed and with all those accessories and additional turns. Sure, steampunk makes everything look amazing, but pinup versions of DC/Batman villians are fantastic as well. I also saw the DC Bombshells, sooo beautiful. Sure, the panels were great, too, but for me those inspiring people really were the best. Also, I have a few more Mia Wallace pics and I might post them seperately.

While I write this post my main worry (besides finding Christmas presents) is to decide on my what I want to do with my life – now that sounds very dramatic. But isn’t the choice of what you study at university just that? Sure, you can change your subject and I’m very young, even though I make a pause of one year, but still. I tend to worry about unimportant things a lot, so when something actually is important, I might fall into a state of panic. And my favourite subject of panic is the future. I’m a very passionate and sensitive person, but I loose interest in things just as easily and especially a job at an office would probably bore me after a few days. But things changing all the time are very exhausting to me after while as well, especially when it has to do with people.

I think I mentioned it before that librarian is one of my ideas (the other being palaeonlogy), because I think books are such a big part of daily life and it would be great to help people with finding a great book. Or working in the library of a museum. That must be quite calming as well, not too many people and instead surrounded by books.

To me that dress has something serious, like a cliché librarian or secretary. And I kind of like that. But then again plid in general is fantastic, serious yet always chic. So I walked through Ulm with High Heels, which wasn’t a good idea because there are cobbles all over that town even my dear Lessing couldn’t help me with being comfortable. But at least I looked chic, even though I’m always a bit self-conscious with tight dresses. I’m mean the more I wear them, the less I mind. And I really like the cut and how soft the fabric is. So for a while I’m a librarian – thinking of something, I actually was a librarian wwhen I was about ten, because I made library cards for all of my friend, wrote down what they borrowed, recommended things and I think I might have added some goodies.

Isn’t it crazy what people can imagine? Artists, Writer, Scientists, basically everyone who creates. The little brooch I wear says: Oh, how I long to run away from normal days! I want to run wild with my imagination! Obviously people also imagine negative things, but it’s such a great thing that brings to live new creations – artworks, medicine. Without the idea nothing would ever come to be.

I personally would love to just travel a lot, so far my ambitions are mainly written on paper. Plans, plans, plans. But I guess, one day I will follow some of them and travel. I mean, I love wearig travel inspired novelty prints and jewellery, but wearing these things while travelling is even better – even if I only visit a city that isn’t even (can I put this word into this sentence even more often?) two hours away. How cool would it be to travel the world via balloon? I think the idea of travelling the world inspired so many people to create various devices. And travelling to different countries, learing about their cultures is such a great inspiration for art and living itself.

Visiting Ludwig II.

As you might already know my best friend like to visit are obsessed with Ludwig II., so we have to visit all of his castles. Here and here are posts of us visting other castles he built and at the end of July we also managed to visit Herrenchiemsee, now we only need to go to Linderhof.

As always we got there by train, then we decided to walk towards the landing pier – which took only about 10-15 minutes, but felt like forever because it was crazyily hot. But on the other hand we got to see the fairy tale garden. Taking the ship to get to the castle was really nice – also that always reminds me of Venice. Then again – recently EVERYTHING does remind me of Venice. As it started to drizzel we took the carriage (which was much ess fancy than it sounds) to the castle. Well, we where dressed accordingly – after all we went to visit a castle of Ludwig II., the fairytale king. Everyone else was dressed in hiking outfits (which was smarter, I guess – but come on, if you have to choose between fancy and smart, always go for fancy).

The castle itself is very much to my liking inside and out – of course you can’t take pictures inside, but there are a few up here. Like, really, I want to live there even though only a couple of rooms are actually finished. I totally get why Ludwig wanted all those castles – did you know that he decided to sleep during the day and be awake at night in 1875? Yes, I might fancy that idea as well. Of course, I’m aware of his personal troubles, but stil, he’s just such an interesting personality it would have been great to meet him. And if you visit Herrenchiemsee you have to visit the museum inside the castle as well. Some of the things displayed there are so funny. Eventually we enjoyed the afternoon on the Fraueninsel which was lovely since the sun came out again.

Anyway, I think those castles Ludwig built are the most beautiful thing about Bavaria, they are really worth a visit and the history of him and his family (to which Sissi/Sisi/Elisabeth belongs as well) is really interesting. Of course, I’m interested in history anyway, but his family is so interesting especially when you think of their clothing and castles as well.

Impressions of Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle

Neuschwanstein & Hohenschwangau

I wanted to visit Neuschwanstein Castle for ages. It is said to look like a Disney castle and it really does. So last Wednesday my best friend and I went to the castle, and we also went to see Hohenschwangau Castle. Since it was a weekday we didn’t have to wait as long and there weren’t that many tourists either – only a few Asian tour groups, Brits and Italian families. So, I really enjoyed it without getting too anxious among the people. And I already want to go back to both castles, even though I wished it was more 19th century (when it was build, but the kings of the Wittelsbach dynasty had a thing for the Middle Ages). Also the tours (they are free if your under 18/a student and 12€ if you aren’t) are quite interesting and only half an hour, which I prefer over 2-3 hour tours.

When I put on this dress, red lips and everything done, and had a look at myself in the mirror, I was just happy. I don’t know why, but I love this dress with the besamé lipstick (I never wore this lipstick before) and it felt so right. The dress is inspired by the one Dita von Teese wore and if you know me personally (or maybe I already mentioned it a few times) you know I really love Dita. To me she is pure confidence, of course I don’t know her privately, but that’s the way she come across to me. Personally, I don’t feel that confident (plus there’s also that character trait of mine that makes me want to stay in a lot), but wearing a pretty dress makes things a whole lot better. And this dress made me so happy, I didn’t expect it when I received the fabric, because it wasn’t the usual cotton and the print was a lot lager than I imagined it to be. But once I put it on everything just fit and was perfect for me. I know it’s just clothing, but the way you dress changes a lot about yourself. If you wear what you love without being influenced by trends (even though there’s nothing wrong with wearing what’s in at the moment) or what society prefers, but what feels right to you and what makes you happy.
Besides that I made a wonderful trip to Hohenschwangau/Neuschwanstein with my best friend and even though there were a lot of people I liked it a lot. It was beautiful and since I love the 19th century (and live quite near these rather popular castles) I had to visit them at least once. I don’t mind not having this society-perfect life, because it’s wonderful for me even though I’m really self-conscious about my mouth and hands in pictures at the moment. And I realised I didn’t wear glasses in the last three outfit posts, which actually is kind of fake since I never wear contacts and always wear my glasses (and therefore couldn’t really see in those pictures :D).

Impressions of Meerburg & Mainau

Meersburg & Mainau

So, as I already told you I went to Meersburg and Mainau here when showing a few pictures of moths & butterflies and here when wearing the autumn outfit. And today is time for a few more pictures. I had a good time there with my family and I loved the leaves and autumn vibes. And I ate all the waffles at Café Droste in Meerburg (if you ever go to Meerburg, go to Café Droste and try the waffles). I also got a paper cut of myself by the cutest elderly lady.

Butterflies and Moths. ♥

Butterflies & Moths

Butterflies & Moths

Actually I don’t know if I told you before, but I really love moths. I think butterflies are a little cliché though pretty nevertheless, but moths are so fascinating. I love their hairy little wings and pretty colours (a lot of moths are actually quite colourful). So, today I want to show you a few pictures I took in Mainau in the butterfly house on 24th of October (in case you were wondering).
If you’re interested in this topic, I recommend Armin Dett’s Schönbar und Nonne (it’s German, but the pictures are amazing even if you don’t understand the words).

Pigeonholing.

Autumn Outfit

Autumn Outfit

Autumn Outfit

Autumn Outfit

I’ve always been a person who loved lists. Or clusters. Schedules, too. And I can’t stand it, when there’s something crossed out or crazy lines to symbolies change etc. Chaos in general. So it’s no surprise I also kind of want to categorize myself. Putting labels on things and so on. Like a person on a tv show – name, age, three interests, one hobby and a life goal. But I just can’t – I like this and that. And when I see something new, I might like this as well. You probably know, that I get quite obsessed with things and get to other things through the first thing. Like Supernatural, after watching every season available (I finished season eight in spring and watched the nineth season a few weeks back) I listened to a alot of music Dean listened to and watched a few of the movies mentioned on the show. Or movies/shows the actors did before or after the show. So I get into differnet things and more things. Also if you’re slightly social – friends, internet, whatever – you get to know new things and want to try them. Sometimes I avoid watching/reading stuff just to avoid getting into it. That’s slightly absurd.
I don’t like pigeonholing other people because I think it’s quite stupid and prejudiced – of course you’ll do this subconsciously anyway. But you can try to control it.
Whatever you try, so, too, as you can’t pigeonhole other people, it doesn’t work with yourself either.

What I did in Hamburg (besides constantly having trouble with my hair)

Hamburg Outfit

Hamburg Outfit

Hamburg Outfit

As you may or may not know I went to Hamburg for two weeks (20th of August – 4th of September). And I totally fell for this city, it’s beautiful. There are wonderful things to see, great shops, friendly people – and it’s approximately ten degrees colder than Munich. So, all the things I like about a city.
Why did I go there anyway? Due to a wonderful friend (and a bit of effort from my side) I had the possibilty to have an internship at Stage Entertainment who produce Musicals in Germany. So, I went there with my mum (she stayed for three days to meet contacts of her company) and on my first day of the internship I got to know two (very nice) people, though I was very shy and awkward. Then, we unpacked a few things, great costums and hats – so many hats. From sunday on I attended fittings in the “Neue Flora” and made notes for tailors/makers. I had some free time/days as well, but especially in the first week I worked a lot. In the second week I worked in the tailoring of the “Operettenhaus” on the Reeperbahn where I sewed a little and repared and brushed hats. Yes, hats are the main aspect of the play. It’s Love Never Dies, in case you wondered, the sequel to Phantom of the Opera.
I stayed with a wonderful and nice family and besides shopping got a lot of reading done. I also went to the “Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe” (museum for art and trade) where I got to see beautiful dresses from past decades and also an amazing exhibiton for tattoos. I love St. Pauli, such a great place for Rockbilly shopping (I went to three within about 200 meters) and it has this shabby charme. Hafen City/Speicherstadt was interesting as well and I could visit a Speicher (some kind of loft) for carpets. I also really enjoyed Fräulein Stadtfein, more of a Pinup/Vintage store with an adorable saleswoman.
