…in which I show you pictures of the cats I met along the way. Most of them I met in the Netherlands (besides the last one, which I met in Vaxholm). Some of them were really cuddly, too.
I showed you what I bought in Amsterdam and Scandinavia already, however, I got a souvenir that is a little more durable, I’d say. Some colour on my skin. I knew I wanted/considered a tattoo from my journey, but I wasn’t sure about it. even though I had found a great shop in Amsterdam. Eventually, however, I wrote the artists and we agreed on a loose date. The shop is Queen of Arts Tattooing in Amsterdam (a fantastic, clean shop) and the Artist Sera.
I wanted something to remember travelling alone by and I got a kitten and a tulip by the lovely @sera.hunt 🐱 it is inspired my my cat, but it also reminds me of one of the aristocats. 🌸 Now heading to Copenhagen, so any last minute tips are welcome. 💕 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #50s #50sgirl #50sfashion #midcentury #60sgirl #60s #60sdress #60sfashion #girlswithtattoos #tattoo #kitten #tulip #tattooedgirls
The design was somewhat spontaneous. Sera posts flash designs on her Instagram and I liked quite a few of them. But, when I was there one the very day, she told me she could also design something there and then. So I told her I’d like a cat and a tulip (for the Netherlands, because I’m creative like that). The cat was inspired by my cat, but reminds me a lot of one of the Aristocats and Dinah (Alice’s cat) which is just perfect. I think it’s so adorable and will always remind me of the lovely time I had.
The pain was okay, certain parts were a bit uncomfortable and some times I felt as if I had got pins and needles in my hand (which is not unusal, but probably even more intense due to my low blood pressure). It healed very well, considering I was travelling during the process and I think it’s adorable how the cat peaks out of my shirts.
Movie Theatres. Probably one of the best inventions of mankind. To me it is still astonishing that someone came up with this technique – but then again I find science and technology in general so fascinating. However I actually wanted to write a bit about movies and cinema visits today. Within two last year are made it a habbit to go to the cinema more often, sure I do not manage to watch every movie I’m interested in, but I would say about 70-80 percent. Before that I only went to the movies about three times a year for whatever unexplainable reason. After all, one of my favourite movie scenes is the one with Danny in the drive in singing his depressing song (Grease) – unfortunately I never went to a drive in. Well, yet, that is on my bucket list.
I’m really glad I manage to go watch movies I want to see on the big screen quite often nowadays – and in OV, because living in a big city there are a few OV movie theatres nearby. And most recently I was not disappointed with most movies I watched – that said, I do not really watch blockbusters, but rather biopics and horror movies – at least in cinema. And Star Wars, obviously. I can’t even begin to imagine how amazing it must have been to watch the original trilogy in cinema. I love how movies, waiting for the release and then waiting in line to finally watch it connects people, to be honest, that makes me somewhat emotional.
Movies are not only an escape but also a way to connect to people, especially with amazing series like Star Wars, Back to the Future or Jurassic Park (just to name some favourites with a big fanbase). In 2015 I convinced my friends to attend the BttF event and it was probably one if the best things I ever did (not only because they are still thankful, but because it was glorious) and I wish there were more events like that. After all this year is the 40 year anniversary of A New Hope (well, in Germany it would be February 2018) – and even if they to not show it at the cinema I guess it’s very obvious what I will do that day.
Of course, the atmosphere of a screening in cinema is always just a bit better with all the popcorn (and nachos for some), the comfy chairs and the darkness. Just writing this makes me excited for the next time I watch a movie (while writing this in March I have not seen Beauty and the Beast yet, but will soon, even though my anticipation is not that high – much more excitement for the live-action version of Mulan here). And I know a lot of people dislike cinemas for all the other people (th chewers and whisperers), but somehow I barely come across annoying people at movie theatres luckily. But then again I often manage to be in cinema with close to no other people – well except for Star Wars and Hidden Figures The latter was in a very small cinema, maybe room 40 people, opening night, OV and I am so glad that fantastic movie got the attention it deserved. I still need to read the book, though. What are your favourite cinema movies? And what would you like to change (bringing cats to the cinema e.g.)?

As the first post of 2017, we start with a recap sort of thing – a recap of fashion, one of my favourite things in the world. These are all Instagram posts that do not include official outfit post – what does that mean? These are pics taking in my room including selfies and just outfits I feel like deserve recognition – and to be worn again! I did something like that last year, too, and once this post is finished, I’ll revisit the old one.
Guess who found a magic wand? 🌌 Somewhere between old costumes of mine. And I have to say – pink hair and pink dresses go quite well together – especially when worn with the Hairspray clips by @atomicmingo On the blog now: a Recap of 2015 and plans for 2016 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #pinup #handmade #swingdress #shirtdress #pushingdaisies #chuckcharles #atomicmingo #hairspray #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #pixiecut #60s #flowertights #magic #glitter #pinkhair
This one is very pink, like a lot of pink – I especiallylove the tights and the magic wand I found. But, I have to mention those brooches as well, an Instagram friend gave them to me and as I love Hairspray, I love these brooches. And, the makeup, I remember which eyeshadow I did use and will wear that again very soon.
Melanie Martinez – how I love thee. This one was not worn outside, but I still love it a lot, from the top to the tights and while I had to throw them away, I really need similar ones soon again.
New handmade flower crown of carnation (my favourite flowers besides daisies). 🌻💕 And I bought new fabric + game flowers to work with today. Also working on my soon to be bob. 💇 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #carnation #flowercrown #flowertights #violethair #pixiecut #50s #glitter
Those thights again, I love them jut so much and I think they go very well with the petticoat and the lettuce flower crown.
Totally different outfit for me today. 😊 And a suffragette pin. 💝 Had pincurls in last night and it was a mess this morning – but I like the way the colour looks in curls. 😄 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #pin #jeansjacket #suffragette #aliceinwonderland #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #pixiecut #mermaidhair #violethair
This one is not necessarily a favourite outifit, but more the thought of going out of my comfort zone as well as the denim jacket – that looks even better now.
Found this #selfie from two weeks ago on my notebook and I kinda like the makeup. I'm a lot into colourful eyeshadow at the moment. And glitter. 💖 Today I have a lot of lilac, violet and glitter around my eyes and in my brows and I really like that. #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #flowercrown #roses #vintage #pixiecut #pinkhair #redhair #selfiesunday #glitter #eyemakeup #heart #redlips
First selfie right here, love the makeup and the flower crown. I think it has some cute details, too.
Look who dyed her hair again – whoo. Also Moriarty decided to pose as well. 😄 In less then two weeks my written exams are over, so happy about this (also in case you wondered I was I'll until yesterday – actually still am, but had to leave the house today). #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #chuckcharles #pushingdaisies #peachdress #cameo #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #pixiecut #violethair #pinkhair #purplehair #50s
I think this is the first post including my cat, so I had to include it here. Also, the dress is one of my all time favourites.
The thing about this one tís the hair turban – I really don’t wear that often enough!
Two more pictures from yesterday, because I did not leave the house today. Instead I binged on Teen Wolf. And oh my, I'm obsessed with Isaac. 😊💕 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #polkadots #rockabilly #deerarrow #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #pixiecut #pincurls #violethair #50s
This includes one of my petticoat when it was still VERY fluffy and I like it a lot, it’s a pretty outfit, too, with red – which is one of my favourite colours.
This brooch and this skirt are perfect together, so I had to include an outfit where I wear these things together. Also, shoutout to little moose, their brooches are amazing!
Curiouser and curiouser! What a wonderful movie. 🐰😻 Go to the cinema as soon as you can! 💛 (it's very different from the book, but it's just amazing). And I met someone (very kind) who knew my blog from my London adventures. 🎠😊 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #littlemoose #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #pixiecut #pinkhair #pincurls #50s #aliceinwonderland #alicethroughthelookingglass #throughthelookingglass #disneybounding #disney #alice #irregularchoice #onelumportwo #teatime
Little moose again, what a coincidence. That was my outfit to Alice II, which has some emotional meaning, but also for all the little Alice bits.
Another shot of my new hair, taken yesterday after my photoshoot. 💖 I wasn't sure whether to share this photo or not, but then I was like 'This is my feed and I like the pic, so I'll do it.' Pictures of the shooting will be ready by Friday I guess. #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #bob #20sbob #whitehair #snowhair #alice #redlips #besamecosmetics #blueeyes #50s
Selfie Time again! That’s one of my favourite selfies – it’s fun and cute and different, especially with it being my first selfie with the white short bob hair which grew to me soo much.
I think the cake dress, pink metallic shoes and glitter on my lips and cheeks are appropriate for what feels like the first real ootd in forever. When I got the shoes in Prague, I wasn't sure when to wear them – obviously a brunch and shopping that is. And of course I had to add ALL the glitter. 💖🌟 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #teaprincess #teatime #glitter #metallicshoes #pink #cakeandtea #20sbob #whitehair #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
I love this dress a lot, and I think it’s beyond perfect with the shoes and the white hair – some things just belong together.
That’s my prom outfit. I did not get photos of it yet, so I have to wait and see until one day I will, but it opened up my love for the twenties (actually Miss Fisher did that) and actually wearing 20s stuff – I really need some cute twenties skirts and dresses!
That one is actually my most like pic on Instagram – I like it, too, no doubt, it’s Alice and the effect is kinda cool. That was a big part of my summer, so I had to include it – yes, I know, I still have to blog about my expierence working as Alice.
First picture with the new background – wore one of my favourite dresses yesterday and the cat decided to join me. 💕 Might have to work on angle and lighting though. However today was spend sewing – I finished one dress and am almost done with my new Alice Outfit and a skirt (will finish that tonight). 💞 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #hungrydesigns #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #peachdress #chuckcharles #charlottecharles #pushingdaisies #cat#20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
Did I include this one only for Moriarty’s cute look? Yes.
Went to Ikea with my best friend today – mainly to get hangers after watching Rosemary's Baby and The Sound of Music the night before (yes, horror movies and musicals, that's our fav combination. 💛 Now I'm swooping over shoes on dollskill. Gosh, I want all of them. 😍 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #starwars #yoda #swidmuenchen #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s #pinkhair #orangehair #pinkhairdontcare
Once again, a new hair colour, and I also really love that sjirt I got at Star Wars Identities.
Back home again I went to the museum (my outfit in the evening was different, I'll post that tomorrow), but look at my space buns! Talking about space – finally watching the 5th Element tonight. 💛 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #heartprint #peterpancollar #60sdress #spacebuns #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #60s #pinkhair #orangehair #pinkhairdontcare
Space Buns! I mean, sure I love the dress, but I am obsessed with space buns. I think that are a lot of fun, especially with half-half hair. Even though I cannot wear my hair in space buns very often, I love space buns a lot.
Yes, I'm obsessed with this blouson. Went to meet friends in the afternoon and then to a party later that night – two social events in one day. Please appreciate me being that social. And today I met my best friend, later on we visited a friend in hospital (she's fine). So I guess I will have a non-social day this week. The two days were lovely nevertheless. #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #japaneseprint #blouson #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s #pinkhair #orangehair #pinkhairdontcare
This blouson is so fancy and somewhat Asian, it’s just so lovely Also, I like wearing that top and it works so well with a lot of my things – of course, mainly in summer.
Last picture of my half and half (because I'm white blonde again), and this outfit kind of reminds me of Snow White. 😊🍎 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #yellowdress #noveltybrooch #deerarrow #snowwhite #disney #noveltybroocheveryday #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s #pinkhair #orangehair #pinkhairdontcare
The yellow dress is one I wear a lot, it’s simple and can be worn with basicall everything and besides the outfit post, I think it’s great with red.
Some Snow White Vibes from yesterday. ❤💄 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #heartprint #hearts #fall #autumn #autumnfashion #deerarrow #poisonapple #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #bow #redbow #redlips #selfie #pincurls #midcentury #20sbob #snowwhite #pinkhair #pinkhairdontcare #peachhair #salmonhair #cottoncandyhair #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
This one was my profile picture on Instagram for quite some time and I wear tht shirt a lot when I relax at home and as a whole it’s slightly like Snow White – also curls for the first time in what felt like ages.
I found this flannel my mum got in Philadelphia once and I love it. (The #selfie is from Monday, I'm sick at the moment and look … not so good 😅). Also I really hope that election wakes up and unites all the #nastywomen and every one who values equal rights for all humans. It saddens me a lot that populism and hate speech still have the same power as eighty years ago. Hopefully we can learn from the past and fight for and defend everyone's equal rights – not only in the USA, but also everywhere else (right wing politicians here in Europe are having a blast…). Love and be kind to each other. ❤ #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #noveltyprint #autumn #fall #autumnfashion #winter #winterfashion #pinkhair #disney #fairy #pixie #princess #glitter #mickeymouse #peachhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
ANOTHER SELFIE? Yes, with the new hair colour (well, I had t in the pic above, but you can see it a lot better here). Also, I like the both makeup and the cute little shirt I stole from my mom.
Today is world kindness day, so spread the love. I want to say thank you once more, to all the lovely people that take the time to like, comment and follow. It brightens my day – and I really wasn't feeling myself today. 💖🌹 Also, I still need good photos of that outfit… #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #autumn #fall #autumnfashion #dita #ditavonteese #wheelsandollbaby #toile #bee #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #peachhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #pincurls #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
Another year has gone by without me shooting this outfit properly, so I had to include it once and since I think that pic is pretty cute, I took this one.
That’s not … me. That’s my cat, cutest thing ever.
dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the earth 🌎 Wore my Ellie Cosplay today and I really enjoyed that. I'm similar to Ellie in a few traits, but mainly I adore her. 💖 And please have a look at the tote bag, those are my first dinosaurs I ever painted and I'm kinda proud. 😊🍃 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #autumn #fall #autumnfashion #elliesattler #dinosaur #dinosaurs #jurassicpark #dinosaurseatmanwomaninheritstheearth #cosplay #jurassicparkcosplay ##peachhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s #feminist
My Ellie Sattler Cosplay means a lot to me for various reasons and I want to take really good pics of it one day, probably with a wig. And since the tote bag was made by me, I wanted to include that one as well.
Got my hair bleached and cut again today and I couldn't be happier. Also, I fixed the cinema cats dress, because the collar was giving me a hard time breathing. And since I get really nervous when I can't breath properly, that had to be fixed. So instead of the Peter Pan Collar it has a little velvet bow now. 🎀 💕 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #autumn #fall #autumnfashion #cinema #movietheatre #cats #popcorn #velvet #bow #newhair #whitehair #greyhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
I only include that for fabulous straight after hairdresser hair. ♥
That's the finished BB8 Dress, I hope to wear it at Comic Con Munich 2017. 💛 Also, aside from tomorrow I'll wear Star Wars themed stuff next week. You know why. ❤ Also, please notice how I have a different hand gesture than in the last twenty pics. 😉 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #starwars #theforceawakens #geekfashion #nerdfashion #bb8 #50sgirl #midcentury #handmadefashion #greyhair #whitehair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s #funko #sweetheartneckline #swingskirt #sewing
Now, be prepared for a couple of Star Wars Outfits, this BB-8 one still needs proper Outfit Pics, but I like that quick photo with the Funko.
My personality is not as sparkly as my outfit. Turns out this somewhat basic (I'm still slightly obsessed with its components – glitter, star wars, galaxy print) outfit still seems special to people – even though I just look like your Hipster next door (no offence to Hipsters). I blame me buying this jumper entirely on @missinformation – and I had to made this skirt in the morning, nothing in my wardrobe seemed fitting. 🔮💜🌟☄ #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #starwars #stars #galaxy #glitter #glittertights #lightsaber #femmedebloom #space #skaterskirt #midcentury #60s #whitehair #greyhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
This one is kind of a hipster rather than a pinup outfit, but I really love everything about it. I’ve been thinking of getting the shirt forever. While I do not want to support fast fashion, every once in a while I get an H&M piece after thinking about it forever and usually I will keep it for years. So while I’m not 100% happy with that solution I’m at least half way okay with it.
*staring off into the distance* And tonight the highlight of my themed week: going to watch Rogue One with a friend and I'm so excited. And of course I had to wear the Millennium Falcon Dress. ❤ #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #starwars #stars #milleniumfalcon #nerdfashion #geekfashion #midcentury #rogueone #rebellion #jointheresistance #maytheforcebewithyou #fangirl #whitehair #greyhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
This dress might be my favourite I made that year, who knows? Anyway, both cut and print are very much to my liking.
Placed an order at Hottopic again – Star Wars and Fall Out Boy themed. But tonight I attended my best friends birthday party even though I'm quite tired after working for nine (eight if you don't count my break) hours. 😅🎀 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #hearts #heartprint #jurassicpark #rockabella #rockabilly #baseballjacket #autumnfashion #greyhair #whitehair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s #60s #pencilskirt #suiteblanco
Jurassic Park, that’s all.
This fabric is one of my all time favourites, it's satin and velvet and glitter. 💖 So it's perfect for a swing concert. Or after your husband died. (It was definitely not murder.) #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #winterfashion #dior #noir #satin #velvet #midcentury #50sgirl #swingskirt #sewing #deerarrow #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #whitehair #greyhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
For me, everything is right with that picture, the light in the background are on (I always forget to put them on!) and I’m low-key obsessed with the dress, it has the most perfect fabric, satin and velvet, you can imagine.
One of my favourite dresses for meeting my bestie and @pink_dino_princess 💞 Also, new tights, because @kirstiemydear always wears this colour so well. 😍💛 And I wear both an apple brooch and earrings. 🍎🍎🍎 #ootdsocialclub #ootd #whatiwore #pinupgirl #handmade #noveltyprint #camping #animalprint #animals #sweetheartneckline #reddress #ocre #mustardyellow #snowwhite #winterfashion #deerarrow #noveltybrooch #noveltybroocheveryday #whitehair #greyhair #cottoncandyhair #20sbob #doyoulikemyvintagebob #50s
Tights again – let’s start and end with fancy tights. I would not have worn mustard yellow tights last year, but with a few people on Insta rocking the colour I wanted to try that and I enjoy the way it looks.
What outfits of mine – or yours – did you like a lot this year?
This month I prepared some things for etsy and had a bit of a Star Wars obsessive sewing marathon.
Altering Cinema Cats
1st, 5th of December
I love love love this fabric and the dress, too, but with the collar it was way too tight – I think that has to do with being slightly claustrophobic in certain situations and so on. So, I removed the collar, made it wider and added a black velvet bow.
8th, 9th of December
After going to comic con I really wanted a BB-8 Cosplay dress, so I made myself one. The applications aren’t perfect, but they are my first ones after all. At first I used the skirt below, but I changed it again to my original plan.
Black Mini Skirt
14th of December
When I wanted to wear the Star Wars jumper, I needed a skirt – I wanted a black (or grey) one, but I don’t own one – and I also wanted a short one, I don’t own that either. So I made one, in the morning, right before wearing it.
Millenium Falcon Bow (for Saskia)
26th, 27th of December
When I prepared the Dress for Saskia, I also decided to make a matching bow and so I did, I inserted some sort of fleece, so it is naturally stiff.
Millenium Falcon Dress (for Saskia)
26th, 27th of December
And that is the dress. I hope it will fit well. It’s a different pattern from the one I made for myself last month, more Lolita and with a cream coloured lining.
What did you make this month? Or this year? And are you selling things on etsy? What would you like to see from me?
I promised it for quite some time and now finally, here we are. A few pictures of my little furball. When we picked him up at the shelter, he was a whole lot darker, but mainly because they had to shave him and now all that white fur is growing back so that he can look beautiful and royal – he is a Birma-Persian Mix after all. He was cuddly right on the day we met him, deciding to sit on my lap, loving to have his fur ruffeled and all that. Now with time he’s also okay with me picking him up – usually he doesn’t try to skin me anymore. He’s also kind of a bad cat – jumping up on the counter and eating things you prepared while you had to get something from another room. But honestly who could be mad at this fluff ball?
Cats are my favourite animals, you know that, of course I also really love deer and (bumble) bees, ravens and moths. But deep inside it’s cats. It has always been. Moriarty (who will get a post soooon) is my second real cat and he is – even though a little bit of a filthy bugger – a cutie. And I am so happy he does live with us.
Since I was a kid I wanted to have cat, I did not get one though, only a alectronic plushie that would meow when petted. It was a cute toy nevertheless and just last week we put in some batteries again and let Moriarty play with her. Which was pretty cute. Beforewe had a cat again, I knew about cat cafés, but I thought they were only limited to Japan.
They are not! Turns out, there are cat cafés in other countries as well. And there is one in Munich! You can imagine my happiness as my friend told me about the café – it’s so wonderful, not only if you don’t have cats. It’s a vegan café, so that’s a big plus as well. But, most importantly, there are various cats, running around, cuddeling and just being cute. That was really wonderful and if you have the chance to go to one, you should take it. It’s very relaxing. The photos were taken by my dear friend Charlotte, who told me about the café – but most of them were taken near my favourite museum – the Neue Pinakothek on the 27th of October, when autumn was really beautiful and golden.

Recently I got back into playing Animal Crossing New Leaf again – when I had this hairstyle, so about, 3rd and 21st of September. But now, about two months later with the update I’m back at it again. You know, I grew up playing this game. I was a bit too young for the original game, but Wild World version was basically the centre of my life for a few summers. Somehow, it was always summer when I got back into playing. I think it started in third or fourth grade, but I don’t quite know.
My best friend and I loved playing together and we spend holidays at my grandparent’s house playing ACWW, visiting each other and making our towns beautiful. We were a bit obsessed to be honest. But it was fun, even now looking back Animal Crossing will always remind me of that time. I want to write innocent time like they do in old novels, but that’s a bit cheesy, isn’t it? Also, it does not really sound like something I’d say in a real conversation. Anyway, Animal Crossing for my is childhood memories and a lot of happy hours (not that I’m unhappy now). I think the creators truely managed to get that across with the game, all those cute little holidays and those loveable characters that live in your little town.
As I said, I did not know the game before Wild World, but with the ones I know (ohh, playing with WiiSpeak and cloning Bells, those memories…) I really like New Leaf the best. The brought (back) a lot of great features like swimming – who did not dream of swimming in the previous games? And then the cute little camp site, which, I have to admit is double fun for me. Once, because I used to play ACWW while camping in Italy in summer and two because I was/am really lucky with my campers. Most of my beloved characters moved to me after visiting the campsite. Peanut, who is my all time favourite pink squirrel, for example, I don’t know why I’m so attached to that squirrel (probably because it’s pink and beyond adorable), but I am. And when she moved out of my Wild World town I was devastated, so once I owned the cheating device (yeah, I cheated in Animal Crossing… what does that say about me?) I made her live with me again (gosh, that sounded creepy). Anyway, I wasn’t really successful, because she turned into a male jock, cute pink squirrel was now a male jock – you know, I’m not the best at cheating.
Of course, in every game after that I was praying for her and in my New Leaf town I got lucky with the camp site. After her, I also got Beau (adorable little deer) and Marshal (cute white squirrel) through the camp site. So now, with the update and the new camp site I’m hoping for little Tangy – another one of my favs. And how could she not? She’s a lemon cat with a leaf on her head. In a way I could imagine most of those little cuties in Wonderland. You know, with their crazy-cute designs and little quirks. It took me a while to give The Sims a try, because I was so used to the adorableness of Animal Crossing and I still love that game, because to me it’s something special.
It’s not like it helped me overcome dark times or something like this, but it added and adds a little spark of joy. The music alone makes me smile, even after not playing for weeks or months – and even with all the weeds. To be honest I only got the 3DS (a used one that had some issues at first) for Animal Crossing, and I’m really not disappointed. With being mayor and the little island they added a lot to the game as with the tiny Happy Home Designer Crossover. That game is quite cute as well, but I think I want to write about this seperately. And of course, my favourite shop owner, Kicks is here with me. And I think that hair colour is really animal crossing as well, if we want to use that as an adjective. Now, looking back, I think ACWW was the first time for me to see with hair that wasn’t on the natural spectrum. Well, well.
Oh, and in Meran people seemed to love that outfit, saying che bello and that stuff. Also, a little girl and her mum called me a pretty princess (which is one of the best compliments out there) and we talked about princesses and fairies and me wearing stardust under my eyes (which is a lovely way to describe the glitter thing). The girl also told me that she’d own a princess dress as well which she loves to wear. It always makes me so happy to talk to people about dressing up and especially kids with their curiosity – and it made both me and them really happy that day, so I will always connect that with the dress.
This month it took me some time to get into sewing again – but then again I was away for a few days and I tend to get ito a power sewing mode when I start. So I made a few autumnal things.

So, Pinafores are my new thing. They look like something a four year old would wear especially with a novelty print, but I also love plaid. So this is my first plaid skirt and I had to add something special, so I turned it into my first pinafore with cute buttons and a little fron pocke. I really love the fabric, it’s soft and the colours are beautiful.

This is a fabric I found in Ulm and I really like it. This pinafore is just as autumnal as the one above. And why do I love making pinafores? They are so easy to make, you wouldn’t actually need any knowledge about sewing and I think about making a little tutorial soon.
Plaid Skirt for Mum
19th of October
For her birthday I gave my mum a voucher for a skirt, so we were looking for a fabric and found that one – it’s perfect for autumn and winter as it is quite cosy and warm. As it is inspired by a Grace Q skirt, I made the waistband a little different and added a few loops for a belt.
Plaid Shirtdress with a Pencilskirt
19th-21st of October
I bought enough of the plaid fabric to make a dress as well. You know, I mainly wear wide skirts, but sometimes I like something a little tight – even though I don’t think it’s a flattering, still I really like the outcome, it reminds me of Joan (Mad Men), but it was not inspired by her, but by a few collectif dresses – even though I changed it quite a bit and just made my own pattern. I was also looking for buttons that were a small version of the ones on the pinafore and I found some – all of the other buttons are old ones I found at home.
23rd, 24th, 28th of October
Actually I had something different in mind for Halloween, but I decided to go for a sort of doll/marionette/revue dancer and I think the corset thing was quite a good idea.
I also changed my hair colour on the 20th, I’m quite happy with the result now, but at first it was a bit to pink. And even though I think that was very pretty, it just wasn’t what I was looking for. So I did two cleaning washes and created a new colour, based on directions flamingo pink, mandarin and revlon 004 peach as well as an alverde conditioner to end up with a cute peach tone.
What did you sew this month and what are you working on now?
So, some of my main characteristics are kind of oppposing and tend to interfere – loving change, easily getting obsessed and having the perfectionist need to be
very good the best at everything, even at things that aren’t competitions (being sarcastic and excitable are the only things that help with not being angry about those things interfering themselves).
Some time ago I was really opposed to change and so when I liked something, had a certain trait, I realy hold onto that and did not want anything to change. So, I was really unemotional, of course everything that made me emotional had to be suppressed. Probably not a very smart decision, but oh well. Niw, I don’t mind anymore when things touch me. (People on the other hand, not thank you)
The ony things that kept being favourites of mine are cats and chocolate, so enjoying a day in a cat print skirt and the best bag ever is just great. Especially, when you’re accompanied by a dear friend and it’s warm outside (another thing I used to loathe – warmth, but now I arrange with whatever weather there is)!
Anyway, you know about two (or three?) years ago I got into 50s dresses and skirts. When I start I was determined to only wear this until the end of time. It was very difficult for me to even allow a few 60s minidresses in my wardrobe. Eventually I embraced change – there’s no need for a 50s only closet if that’s not what you want. The more glitter in my face the happier I am, and that’s not very midcentury, but more of a Japanese street fashion thing. My handmade petticoat is not very pinup-like, but also more of a bell-shaped lolita one. But that’s fine, just like it’s fine to wear this skirt again that I’ve had for years – since my mum once gave it to me, because I love wearing it. So, why shouldn’t I? There’s no fashion police stoping me from trying different styles. If I want to be a 20s flapper girl one day and a midcentury sweetheart with some Melanie Martinez inspiration the next, just to go for an 80s punk look after that, then I can. That does not mean I’m not a real pinup girl or what ever.
Style evolves and not every da has to be the same. So why limit yourself if it does not feel right anymore? Go ahead and try something new when you feel like doing so.
