childhood memories | Seefeld Snowglobe Tattoo

Every year on my birthday we travel to Seefeld in Austria, it’s less than two hours away from my home, so it’S the perfect weekend get away. While I have severe issues with my birthday, I get incredibly sulky and cranky – I know that, but I cannot do anything against it, because thoughts race in my head and I can’t control that -, I love this place with all my heart. It is of course because of all the memories tied to it. I have a couple of posts about this place, you can find them here.

I mentioned this before, but somehow I find shin tattoos rather uncomfortable to be done. The transition between bone and flesh is so weird and just in general it’s rather ticklish and my leg tends to twitch. Yet, I think it turned out so lovely with the snow and the alpine flowers (ghostweed). As always Ella worked out my idea just perfectly – the wood detailing especially is a dream. The healing on this one was quicker (I got it late January) and easier than the Big Girls one for some reason. I feel like bigger areas heal a lot better than delicate ones.

Between studying for my tests I decided to take the time to write another blogpost. I have a couple more outfit shots saved, that I just have to edit and think of a text. Well, my exams are in the first two weeks of February, so I have one more week. And after that I have about two and a half weeks of chemistry “internship”. So not the most chilled weeks, but I enjoy my studies, so that’s fine. Last weekend was spent in Seefeld with my best friend and family, so that was a nice break.

Since currently I’m spending most of my time at home, I’m living vicariously through travelling blogs, books and movies, feeling my wanderlust stronger every day. I would also enjoy spring and summer again, but the beautiful snow isn’t too bad either. It also fits with my love for the moomin stories.

I like how cosy the moomins are, how much there is to learn from the books – from enjoying what life gives you to not focusing material goods. It felt rather cathartic to read a book that is actually for kids and just relate to this so much. Nevertheless I do hope to get to wander a bit soon again for real and not just through Snufkin and Moomin’s adventures.

A few weeks ago, at the end of July my mum and I went to Salzburg and Gut Aiderbichl because they had a T-Rex skeleton to exhibit. The first couple of photos are from Gut Aiderbichl, a place where they take care of animals that would often be killed otherwise. It is mainly for horses, alpacas, goats and pigs (big/farm animals), but there are also a handful of dogs and cats – the cats have a great set of three big rooms, a garden with a fence and can go anywhere. And of course the T-Rex. What was kind of funny to me is that most people get there using their car – it’s like let’s support nature (animals), but destroy it at the same time (exhaust gas pollution). You can get their by bus and shuttle however like we did, but it is a bit complicated and you should tell the bus driver where you are going, because they will call someone at the Gut. Besides all the animals you can also get something to eat (all vegetarian or vegan) and buy stuff at a flea market (the money earned goes to the animals of course). And I did find some Vinatge books, a vintage camera and posters.

We then wandered through the beautiful city. Not only, but also due to the fantastic food, it’s one of my favourite cities. The café to which I went before is Cafe Classic next to the Mozart Museum. And, if I may say so they have the best Sachertorte there is. Literally no Sachertorte anywhere compares to this. Alongside I recommend Mozart Melange which is coffee with Mozart ball flavour and it is just delicious (and I need this mug). We had dinner at Zum fidelen Affen and it was very tasty as well.
The city is great to explore for a day or two. Even the regular shopping streets are beautiful and historic and I’d highly recommend spending some time there and just wandering around – but you have to stop at Mirabell Castle.

Seefeld – A few January pictures

Seefeld Snow
I hope you don’t mind seeing a few snowy pictures, but somehow I did not manage to post these photos earlier. Well. So I post them about two months after my birthday, which we spent in Seefeld. We were lucky with the weather, there was a lot of snow (laying around not that much snowing-wise, it actually was rather sunny yet coooold) and the landscape was just lovely. Also, there was a spa connected to the place we stayed at and that was really enjoyable, too. So, here we go, a snowy landscape even though I really wish for spring.
We spend most days with an activity in the morning, then lunch – usually with a hot chocolate and then spa, so I did not take as many pictures and when my best friend and I went for a walk around the sea, I also forgot my camera. However, if you want to see more pictures on Seefeld, just have a look here.

Welcome Tangy & Festivale | Animal Crossing New Leaf

ACNL Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo Tangy Festivale
Animal Crossing. My very first video game (well, if you do not count nintendogs), I started out on DS Lite playing Wild World all summer, for some reason that game really spoke to me in the summer months. Of course, I went on to Wii when the time came, but mainly because I could play with my friends – and drive to the city to buy balloons, change my shoes and shop at Grazias. However I stilled play ACWW on my DS, I just think the game is just such a handheld game. But then, news for New Leaf dropped, I was on the edge of my chair waiting for the game and since very early on (I’d say 15th of June 2013, which was just after the release) I play ACNL. After getting used to the new character design, it really became my favourite of the series (well, WW is the nostalic favourite) and to this day I play the game. Not as excessive, but I do play it every once in a while and I really love my little animal residents – I did not restart my city once. And I think with the update the really took the game to a new level, so now I want to show you a few impressions of my gameplay. Especially, since I feel this blog is becoming very heavy on the fashion side and I just want to share my other interests as well. However, it is a bit difficult to take pictures and I’m sure if I keep this series up, that will improve over time (the screenshots in the game just are really small, so cannot really use them).

This is my house, a symphony of sweets and my little mayor, Lina, wearing some sort of antique ensemble. I never strive for a matching, highfashion look in the game, instead I just put together a few cute things and walk along.

Today I decided to ask wisp to turn into Tangy, one of my all-time favourite residents from the old games. He asked her to move to Seefeld, my town and then we were excited to welcome a new resident…

…who had build her house right next to mine!

But before she moved in, we enjoyed a starry night and wished on a falling star. I do not know what exactly Lina wished for, but she got a three lamp – and of course Tangy moved in the next day.

Monday was the big day then, Festivale, something I really do not like in real life, but an adorable festivity in Animal Crossing where you try to catch all the feathers and get rewarded with what I consider the cutest series of furniture. So, after talking to Pavé, I had to get change to rock along with the Festivale spirit.

Of course, Pavé was amazed by our feather catching skills and rewarded us. (I did own the entire series before, because I’ve been playing for over three and a half years).

I hope I will keep this post series up and will try to improve the quality of the pictures, but I hope you liked this little trip to Seefeld. Do you play Animal Crossing and if you do which console did you start on?
Also, if you want to have a look at my town, this is my dream address: 7B00-0011-AAD6. What’s yours?

it’s still winter, right? (+ Impressions of Seefeld)

So, let me be honest with you – those pictures were in Seefeld, mid of January, so it was super snowy and wonderful. I let them rot on my harddrive for about a month, I guess. Actually those were taken when I took pictures of another dress – this one here.
You all know I really love winter, it’s by far my favourite season, but at the moment it’s so – well, kind of terrible. I don’t like this grey and muddy not-winter-winter. It’s cold, but not in a nice and snowy way. Anyway, Seefeld is beautiful in winter, so I’ll include pictures of the town as well.

One thing I really love is a good breach of style. It adds personality and that edgy feeling. Also, it shows more than one character trait. Those shoes kind of break the fairytale vibe (which I love as well obviously) and add a punkish note. I mean, don’t get me wrong I love a good consistent full on 40s outfit, but fashion is more than accuracy and repetition. It’s creativity, daring and trying new things. And combining things that might not be the same style – and if I had blond locks and white shoes I’d look like a bride or the angel of death. Also, I did not want to (*cough* or could not afford spending 100 € for a pair of shoes *cough*) buy the lovely Irregular Choice for about a 100 €. With those boots I also feel quite badass, like a punk snow fairy. And there’ll be a makeup tutorial for this look up soon.

Kathi

Teestunde am Sonntag | KW drei

Teestunde_kw_drei

Kathi
